Mk5 84 2131 Image Orthicon Television Camera
The back door covering the rear of the
scanning yoke is also missing.... The inner section of the yoke, comprising
the scan and alignment sections pull out through this rear access panel
and the big 4.5" Image Orthicon tube fits inside it. In this manner
the I.O. tube could be replaced quickly if it failed.
The 4 lenses on the turret had an iris
gear ring which meshed with the iris drive servomotor in the centre
of the turret. This motor was controlled by the vision engineer to give
the correct amount of exposure for the tube.
The "Taking" lens is the bottom left position.
