The Marconi MkVIII, a 3 tube colour camera was first shown at IBC in 1970.

 

It has many advanced features:-

Automatic line-up with internal diascope

Automatic colour balance from external white card

Dynamic centering from picture content

Choice of easily changed lenses

minimised red & blue images to reduce colour lag

 

The Marconi MkVIIIB was announced in 1973. This incorporated many improvements and made provision for tube developments. (pictured above, the blue stripe is the indicator)
