A Prototype EMI Super Emitron tube

A Prototype EMI Super Emitron tube

This picture is of a prototype Super Emitron tube in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Currently held in the annex and not on display. (2014)

The inserted yellow label was on the display stand.

Tubes of this nature are very difficult to photograph, the brown colouring is the wall behind the tube and there are many reflections in the glass and internal silvering. As this was a laboratory prototype there was no tube base fitted.
