EMI 1951 vintage 6 Lens Television Camera

The EMI 1951 6 Lens CPS Television Camera, referred to as a 'Mk2' Orthicon

This camera was designed for export and could operate on 625 lines. It was shown at the 1951 Festival of Britain on London's South Bank site and then at the Television Society* exhibition in 1951. It had a 6.5 inch viewfinder tube and could be operated by remote control from the OB van.

 

The camera is shown as part of an advert in the 1952 BBC Yearbook.
