EMI 204 Colour Television Camera

The camera uses 3 vidicon tubes and can operate on 405, 525 and 625 lines. Two standard BICC Mk4b camera cables connect it to the control equipment. The output is RGBY which could be coded to NTSC.

EMI 204/1 a dust proof version for industrial use.

EMI 204/2 a medical camera suitable for use in operating theaters.


Norman Green writes: "to say that the EMI three vidicon camera did not, as far as I know, go through a lab/prototype model. It's final design was straight off the drawing board! I have photographs of the first model being assembled on a bench in the Research mechanical workshop in June 1958."
