Dage Teletran portable radio
camera system
Based on the 334 camera and a backpack with rechargeable batteries, EIA
synchronising generator and camera control. The transmitter has an output
power of 0.1 watt in the 2 Ghz band to a discone antenna on the top of
the pole. The receiver has a dipole antenna at the focal point of a 2ft.
parabolic reflector.
It is thought that this system was used by Malcolm Ross and his companion
as they made the first live television broadcast (over an NBC affiliate)
from an enclosed balloon gondola from an altitude of 79,500 ft in the
stratosphere.
